Dr. Courtney Leddell on The Baby Fold

November 29, 2012

With four locations in Normal, Illinois, The Baby Fold dedicates itself to helping children find families. Founded in 1902 as the Mason Deaconess Home for the Aged, The Baby Fold aids between 1 and 3 thousand families annually. Moreover, it has earned recognition as the sole downstate Illinois adoption agency to hold accreditation from the Hague Council on Accreditation for International Adoption.

Although adoption services remain a key feature of The Baby Fold, the group runs a number of other programs. Understanding the unique requirements of special education, it conducts classes at local schools and provides vocational training and outreach. Those interested in performing as a foster parent can apply through this entity. Its Residential Treatment Center offers live-in mental health services to individuals between the ages of 3 and 13. Moreover, initiatives such as Project Choices educate pregnant and parenting youths on caring for their children.
